Youth, Apprentice Program & 1st Time Hunters pheasant Shoot
An annual tradition and in partnership with the Ohio Division of
Wildlife, the club offers local hunters who have passed their Hunter
Safety Course and obtained their Ohio Hunting License, or obtained
an Apprenticeship License, an opportunity to hunt pheasants on the
club property. This year the event will take place on November 5th,
2023. The day begins with a safety and rules review before heading
to a clay pigeon station where the participants can practice hitting
the clay targets before moving on to live birds. Each hunter is
taken individually with supervision along a trail where there is a
bird. Once the pheasant is flushed and shot, a dog will retrieve the
bird for the hunter.
There is NO CHARGE for this
activity. Participants must be at least 10 years of age, have a
valid Hunting License or Apprenticeship License, bring a shot gun
& wear required hunter orange to the event. Ammunition
will be provided, but donations of shot shells would be appreciated.
HOT DOG & CHILI WILL BE PROVIDED
